Chronic Pain
Chronic pain is defined as pain lasting longer then 3 months. This pain can be debilitating for your child, causing them to withdraw from their daily activities and become less active. This type of pain could be caused by numerous factors, including overuse injuries in athletes, and pain syndromes (CRPS and amplified musculoskeletal pain syndromes). Goals will be tailored to your child’s activities to include: decreasing the occurrence of pain; increasing their participation in desired activities; improving their posture and quality of life; and, teaching coping strategies to help when the pain is present.
